Amir received his PhD in Materials Engineering from University of Alberta, Canada. During this time, he designed and built a new water treatment technology capable of dealing with hazardous contaminants of a persistent nature, including pharmaceutical contaminants.
In addition to leading Roshan Water™ since January 2017, Amir also did postdoc work at the University of Alberta in designing hybrid water treatment technologies and was very involved supervising other graduate students.
As the CEO of Roshan Water™ Solutions Inc, Amir is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the company, leading product development and field-testing activities, and managing day to day operations and finances.
Amir cofounded Roshan Water™ in 2017 with one goal in mind, using cutting-edge technology developed at U of A and helping people who suffer from consequences of consuming contaminated water on a daily basis. Growing up in his home country of Iran, Amir experienced the inability to access clean water sources and how lives can change by having this most important commodity.
He has always enjoyed being as a part of a team towards a bigger mission. During his undergraduate studies at the University of Tehran, he co-chaired a national symposium for materials engineering and metallurgy that hosted more than 150 participants from all over the country.
Working with a talented team of employees and contractors at Roshan Water™ is a significant source of joy and energy for Amir.
